New Tracker Maps AI’s Real Impact on Global Workforce

Revelio Labs launched its AI Labor Market Tracker on July 28, 2026, building on the company’s proprietary workforce and job-posting data. The tracker captures indicators across labour supply, demand, employment and wages, job content, and the hiring process, providing a recurring monthly snapshot. It charts changes to the job market since OpenAI’s launch of ChatGPT in November 2022.

Job Market Activity Shifting Within Roles, Not Between Them

The inaugural tracker found that the mix of activities performed across the US economy has shifted sharply in recent months, with the bulk of those changes seen within individual occupations rather than across different occupations.

Within occupations most vulnerable to AI — such as data engineers or financial analysts — demand for new employees has dropped 36 percent since November 2022, compared to the least exposed occupations. The demand drop is attributed to companies anticipating a reduced need for jobs that AI can perform, not confirmed current displacement.

AI-Adopting Companies See Headcount Growth

A contrasting picture emerges within companies that have already adopted AI successfully: Revelio Labs’ tracker found a 27 percent increase in headcount.

Expert Perspective

Revelio Labs chief economist Lisa Simon stated: “AI is automating some types of work, but it’s not automating jobs in their entirety.” CEO Ben Zweig highlighted the tracker’s scope, noting that the company’s data covers more than 30 million companies, over 5 billion job postings, and 195+ countries.

European AI Job Postings Surge While Overall Hiring Flat

Separately, the Indeed Hiring Lab July 2026 chartbook found that overall job postings in European countries have moved either sideways or downwards since end of 2023, while AI-related postings have increased substantially over the same period. According to the Indeed AI Tracker (published 27 July 2026), the share of European job postings mentioning AI is led by Ireland at 15%, followed by Spain at 13%, and the UK at 9%.
